If you’re looking for a fun, mainly flat, coastal course with stunning views based in the heart of the Coromandel Peninsula, then the Aon Whitianga Marathon is the event for you! We have an event for everyone ranging from a 5km fun run right up to the premier 42km marathon.
Located in the stunning Mercury Bay, Coromandel, the event is the perfect occasion for a high energy challenge followed by a relaxed short break away.
After record entries in 2021, we are excited to announce the date for the Aon Whitianga Marathon is set as Saturday 21 May 2022.
Comments from runners from this year’s event were that they were “blown away with the support from the local course marshals and aid stations crews – it was like the whole town was hosting the event”.
The waterside course is largely flat and features stunning views of Mercury Bay including Buffalo Beach, Cooks Beach and the surrounding Coromandel Ranges.
There is a distance to suit everyone ranging from the 5km, 10km distances or the longer half marathon or full marathon event. It is your race at your pace and we look forward to welcoming both walkers and runners to the 2022 event.
